Balsamic vinaigrette

Ingredients

¼ cup balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp honey
2 tsp Dijon mustard*
¼ tsp dried oregano
½ garlic clove, minced
Salt and pepper

* Gluten free if using gluten-free mustard

You can swap:

Dried oregano
Dried thyme
Olive oil
Canola or sunflower oil

Tips

  • Making your own dressings allows you to control the ingredients to make it as healthy as possible. 
  • Using healthy fats like olive oil is good for your heart. 

 

  • Store dressing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Mix well before use. 

  • Spices last a long time in the pantry. As you only need a small amount in recipes, they are an inexpensive way to add flavour. 
  • You can save money by using home brand oil, honey and mustard.
  • Jarred garlic can be used to save time and money.

Method

Step 1
Whisk all ingredients in a small bowl until combined. Season with salt and pepper.


Serving suggestion: Drizzle over salad.
