Pinch of nutmeg
½ cup reduced-fat milk
1 apple, chopped or grated

Pear
Apple
Canned pie apple or dried apple
Natural yoghurt
Flavoured yoghurt

Tips

  • Milk and yoghurt provide calcium. Calcium is needed for strong bones and teeth.
  • Apple provides natural sweetness along with fibre and vitamins.
  • Oats are rich in carbohydrates, which fill you up and are the body’s preferred source of energy.

  • This recipe is a great way to use up apples that are a bit bruised or wrinkled. Just remove any bruised bits.

  • You can save money by using home brand oats and yoghurt.
  • Buying in bulk can help save money. A larger carton of yoghurt or packet of oats may be cheaper.

Method

Step 1
Place all ingredients into a container or bowl. Place the lid on the container and shake well to combine or if in a bowl, stir and cover.

Step 2
Refrigerate overnight.
