Fresh fruit platter

Ingredients

1 orange, sliced
1 handful of grapes
1 apple, cut in pieces
1 punnet of blueberries
6 strawberries
1 kiwi fruit, sliced
1 wedge of rockmelon, cut in chunks
1 wedge of pineapple, cut in chunks
1 passionfruit, cut in half

Tips

  • Having fruit as snacks is an easy way to get your 2 serves of fruit each day.
  • This recipe is a good source of fibre. Eating a diet high in fibre can help reduce your risk of bowel cancer.
  • Eat different coloured fruit every day to get a variety of nutrients.

  • Reduce waste and don’t peel the apple. Just wash well.
  • Buy ‘Odd Bunch’, ‘I’m Perfect’ or ‘Imperfect Picks’ fruit to help reduce food waste.
  • Compost the peelings if you can.

  • Choose fruit in season. It will be cheaper, tastier and better quality.
  • To save money, make a fruit platter with fruit that is on special.

Method

Step 1
Wash and chop fruit.

Step 2
Arrange fruit on a flat platter.

Step 3
Spoon passionfruit pulp over the top.


Serving suggestion: serve with some reduced-fat natural yoghurt.
