Share recipe:

Ingredients

2 bananas, sliced
½ lemon, juiced
1 cup reduced-fat natural yoghurt
½ cup toasted muesli
1½  cups mixed berries, fresh or frozen
1 tbsp honey

Savvy swaps

You can swap:

Natural yoghurt
Flavoured yoghurt
Muesli
1/2 cup of rolled oats

Tips

  • Muesli, bananas and berries provide fibre. Fibre helps keep you fuller for longer.
  • Yoghurt provides calcium. Calcium is needed for healthy bones and teeth.

  • If you can, compost the banana skins.
  • You can juice the leftover lemon and freeze for later use.

  • You can save money by using oats instead of muesli.
  • To save money make this recipe when bananas are in season or on special.
  • Bottled lemon juice can be used to save time and money.

Method

Step 1
Lightly brush the sliced banana with lemon juice.

Step 2
In 4 mason jars or plastic containers, layer the banana, yoghurt, muesli and berries and drizzle with a little honey.

Food safety tip: If you are packing for lunch, banana split pots need to be kept cold so pack an ice brick.
