1 cup water
¼ cup mint (optional)

Savvy swaps

You can swap:

Blender
Stick blender or food processor
Frozen mixed berries
Frozen raspberries, blueberries, strawberries or mango
Canned pineapple
2 oranges, peeled

Tips

  • Making your own frappes and frozen drinks at home allows you to reduce the fat and sugar content and increase the fruit content.
  • One serve of this recipe is a good source of fibre. Eating a diet high in fibre can help reduce your risk of bowel cancer.
  • Berries are a good source of vitamin C.

  • Use leftover frozen berries in smoothies  and muffins
  • Freeze leftover frappe in ice cream moulds for a healthier ice block.

  • Frozen berries can be cheaper than fresh.
  • Buying in bulk can help save money in the long run. A larger packet of berries or can of pineapple may be cheaper.
  • You can buy berries in season when they are cheaper and freeze for later use.

Method

Step 1
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Step 2
Divide between 2 glasses and serve.
