As the days get colder, we start feeling like warm and hearty meals and snacks rather than light and healthy salads. Winter is a fabulous time to enjoy these seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Revamp your winter recipe collection with these nourishing meals. Cook extra for dinner, pack leftovers for lunch or pop in the freezer for a speedy mid-week meal.

Time-saving hacks:

If you have the oven on, save time and money and toss some veg, such as pumpkin, sweet potato, potato and capsicum, in a little olive oil with some rosemary or thyme and bake to use on pizza muffins or in a quick and easy frittata.

While preparing dinner, stew some apples with some sultanas for a warm dessert, topping your breakfast porridge or mixing with yoghurt for a snack.

Seasonal produce is often excellent quality and less expensive, helping you to create delicious, nutritious food on a budget.

Slow-cooked and oven-baked recipes not only warm your tummies but also your home! They smell delicious, too.
