The end of the year is often a time to reflect on achievements and embrace the joy of the festive season.

This year, let’s make celebrations vibrant and nourishing! Imagine a party table bursting with color, flavour and goodness – where every bite delights the taste buds and nourishes the body. From crisp, colorful vegie and fruit platters to creative, fun party foods – get ready to impress with these ideas:

1. Vibrant vegies and fruit platters

Crudites and dips

Serving up dips and vegie platters is the perfect way to start the festive feast and a great way to boost your vegie intake! The table will look bright and festive with simple
vegie platters and wholegrain crackers served with a selection of dips such carrot ricotta dip, beetroot hummus and babaganoush.

Snowman vegie platter

Want to be a little more creative with your vegie platters?  Kids the kids involved in making a snowman platter using assorted vegies such as carrots, cherry tomatoes, capsicum and cucumbers and tzatziki dip.

They say we ‘eat with our eyes’ and what’s more enticing than a colourful platter of fruit? Cut seasonal fruit into different shapes can help turn an ordinary fruit platter into a feast for the eyes.

Easy peasy watermelon trees

Need a quick and easy festive plate to take to a gathering? You can’t go wrong with platter of watermelon Christmas trees. The ‘trunk’ of the watermelon makes a mess-free handle to hold. This incredibly simple idea will be a hit with adults and children alike on a hot summer’s day.

2. Sensational savoury snacks

Our festive Christmas tree pizza recipe is a healthy and tasty option for the lunch box or perfect for a party platter.  A delicious way to get 1 of the recommended 5 serves of vegies!

Top tip: Get creative and use whatever vegies you have available to decorate the ‘trees’.

Sensational sausage rolls

Nothing more says ‘party food’ than sausage rolls! Our beef and veg sausage roll recipe is easy to make and provides 1 serve of veg per roll. For an added nutrient hit, serve with our flavoursome homemade tomato sauce.

Pinwheel Christmas tree

This simple pinwheel Christmas tree recipe is a stunning centerpiece and the perfect appetizer for your festive gathering. Prepare it ahead of time – just cover and refrigerate for up to a day before serving.

3. Showstopper salad

4. Sweet treats

Festive pikelet creations

Have fun with fruit. Try our super easy banana pikelet recipe. Get the kids to design their very own festive creation!

Variation: If you don’t have bananas, add ½ cup fresh or frozen berries or sultanas to the mix before cooking. You can make plain pikelets too.

Snowballs

Top tip: Make a double batch and freeze what you don’t need. Then you have a quick and easy snack on hand.
